HERBS small miracle that enchance food and cure ailments

Few tasks can be more rewarding and therapeutic than growing and preparing your own herbs. Herbs are fascinating plants as each has its own traditions and folklore, as well as medicinal and culinary uses. Put them on a sunny windowsill so they will survive. A window in the south or southeast would be perfect if it gets at least five hours of sun per day and is positioned away from drafts. Use a soil-less potting mix to avoid soil-born diseases. Be sure the mix is light and well draining.
OREGANO
Oregano is commonly used as a culinary herb, but it has been used medicinally for thousands of years. Tea from oregano can treat indigestion, bloating, urinary problems and bronchial problems. It also relieves fever, diarrhea, vomiting and jaundice.

BASIL
This ancient herb, which originated in India, is possibly the oldest of all herbs. It thrives in full sunlight and is commonly grown today for its culinary use. The Greeks and Italians use basil to keep away flies. It is also a remedy for travel sickness.
THAI BASIL
The Thai Basil variety grows up to 2 1/2 feet high and wide so do provide ample space. It is known as an antidepressant and an antiseptic. Its leaves can be rubbed onto the skin to relieve itching from insect bites.
SPINACH
Spinach grows best with ample moisture and a fertile, well-drained soil. Grows for its edible leaves, this vitamin-rich plant is a source of iron, calcium and protein.
MUGWORT
The mugwort has many uses, traditionally as a remedy for digestive dis orders, and as a tonic for various ailments. It improves digestion and helps increase one's appetite.GREEN GLOBE BASIL
They're perfect for dishes. Green Globe is a favorite among the basil variety bacause the small leaves gives out an appealing aroma. It is great for a container garden.
